What is Hair Transplant?
Hair transplant is a surgical procedure that involves taking hair follicles from one part of the body, usually the back or sides of the scalp, and transplanting them to another area that is bald or experiencing hair thinning. The most common type of hair transplant is called Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) or strip harvesting, which involves removing a strip of skin from the donor area and dissecting it into individual follicular units to be transplanted. Another type of hair transplant is called Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), which involves removing individual hair follicles directly from the donor area using a punch tool. Both FUT and FUE are performed under local anesthesia and are typically outpatient procedures. The transplanted hair follicles will then grow in the recipient area over time, creating a more natural-looking hairline and increasing hair density.
